Custom-made tuning
to your make & model of piano.
Custom-made tuning increases the longevity
of your tunings and the longevity of your piano.
Servicing Southeastern Massachusetts & Beyond.
Because, especially in New England, temperature and humidity changes swing in many directions throughout the seasons. The ‘pulls’ and ‘releases’ on the string from expansion and ‘contractions/ loosening’ through the winters cause the pitches to go sharp (high-Summer) then flat (low-Winter) respectively. This can also vary from season to season, year to year….
The National Piano Technicians Guild suggests having pianos tuned at least once per year, (of course depending on the age, location and other factors). Keeping a pianos tuning maintained not only helps the longevity of the tunings and retains the general health of the instrument via tuning pins and tuning pin blocks and the strings themselves, but ALSO increases the ‘incentives’… to enjoy the instrument more regularly…
Keep your piano fit and healthy!
Fees can be discussed and agreed upon according to the needs of the individual clients. Tuning fees (Usually approximately 2 hours of meticulously and digitally loosening or tightening 230-245 strings) are in accordance with the general condition of the piano and is also dependent upon when the last tuning was and how regularly it’s been tuned.
Includes:
Tunings are done both aurally and with the use of the highly sophisticated and accurate ‘Anderson Accutuning Digital Computer’ which can digitally pinpoint accuracy to one hundredth of one cent.
(One cent meaning the difference of one hundredth of a per cent so that means between A=440 FCPS [frequency cycles per second] and A=441 – is cut into one hundred degrees.) – HIGHEST ACCURACY. A custom made ‘temperament’ (Meaning the bottom registers and harmonies coincide, with highest accuracy, to the pitches and harmonies in all of the top registers aka; ‘equal temperament’) is also included in the tunings.
50% of it will be put toward any subsequent work done on the piano.
